WSCC Foundation and Tegh Wealth Creators Support Urban Farmer in Tree Plantation Drive

In an inspiring initiative towards promoting environmental sustainability, the **WSCC Foundation**, in collaboration with **Tegh Wealth Creators** and supported by **Urban Farmer**, took a significant step by adopting a garden next to the **WSCC Secretariat**. As part of this green initiative, a **Tree Plantation Drive** was organized, during which free saplings were distributed to members and volunteers who participated in the event.

The initiative aligns with WSCC’s vision of contributing to a greener and healthier environment. It also emphasizes the importance of community-driven efforts to protect the planet for future generations. This initiative was not just about planting trees but also about creating awareness around sustainable living, urban farming, and the crucial role that green spaces play in urban areas.

### A Step Towards a Sustainable Future

The **Tree Plantation Drive** saw active participation from WSCC members and local residents, who came together to plant a variety of trees in the adopted garden area. The event was more than just an environmental effort; it symbolized the WSCC Foundation's commitment to social responsibility and sustainability. **Tegh Wealth Creators** partnered in the initiative by ensuring that the event was well-organized and resources were efficiently distributed to everyone involved.

### Community Involvement and Sapling Distribution

One of the highlights of the day was the distribution of **free saplings** to all participants. The WSCC Foundation ensured that every individual who took part in the event could take home a sapling, encouraging them to contribute further by planting it in their own homes or communities. This gesture was warmly appreciated, as it allowed members to continue the mission of environmental conservation in their personal spaces.

### A Greener Tomorrow

This effort is just the beginning of a larger plan by WSCC to promote environmental awareness and sustainability within the community. The **WSCC Management** is committed to organizing more such events in the future, encouraging members to take active roles in preserving nature. The garden next to the WSCC Secretariat will serve as a symbol of this continued effort, with the newly planted trees standing tall as a testament to the community's dedication to a greener future.

Through this drive, the WSCC Foundation aims to inspire other organizations to adopt similar eco-friendly initiatives and lead the way in building a sustainable future.

WSCC Foundation & Tegh Wealth Creators to Organize Tree Plantation Drive

The World Sikh Chamber of Commerce (WSCC) Foundation, in collaboration with Tegh Wealth Creators and in support of Urban Farmer, is proud to announce a Tree Plantation Drive on **24th August 2024**. The event will take place from **11 AM onwards** at the park located behind the WSCC Secretariat, and promises to be an inspiring initiative dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability.

In an age where environmental preservation has become a global priority, WSCC Foundation and its partners are stepping forward to lead by example. This tree plantation drive aims to contribute to a greener, healthier planet while raising awareness about the importance of environmental conservation. In addition to the drive, there will be **free plants for all WSCC members** who join the event, ensuring that everyone can take home a small symbol of nature’s power and potential.

Trees are essential to the ecosystem, offering not only beauty but also life-supporting functions such as improving air quality, conserving water, and supporting wildlife. Through this initiative, WSCC and Tegh Wealth Creators hope to encourage individuals and businesses to be more environmentally conscious and make sustainable practices part of their daily lives. The collaboration with **Urban Farmer**, a well-known advocate for urban agriculture and green spaces, adds a rich layer of expertise and resources to the initiative.

WSCC Pilgrimage Wing Visits Gurdwara Takhat Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded

The World Sikh Chamber of Commerce (WSCC) Pilgrimage Wing recently organized a spiritual journey to one of the holiest sites in Sikhism, Gurdwara Takhat Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib, located in Nanded, Maharashtra. This visit was a profound experience for all participants, as they paid homage to one of the five sacred Takhts (seats of power and authority) in Sikhism, which holds immense historical and religious significance.

The Gurdwara marks the site where the 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, spent the last days of his life and where he left his earthly body. It is at this revered place that Guru Gobind Singh Ji proclaimed the Guru Granth Sahib, the sacred scripture of the Sikhs, as the eternal Guru. For the WSCC members, the visit was not only a journey to connect with their faith but also an opportunity to strengthen their ties as a community.

The group began their visit with the traditional Ardas (prayer), seeking blessings for peace, prosperity, and strength for the entire community. The serene environment of the Gurdwara, combined with the divine recitations of Gurbani (Sikh hymns), created an atmosphere of deep reflection and spiritual awakening for everyone involved. The WSCC Pilgrimage Wing, which focuses on bringing together Sikhs from across the globe, saw this visit as an opportunity to deepen their connection with the teachings of Guru Sahib and reaffirm their commitment to the values of Sikhism—sewa (selfless service), simran (meditation), and unity.

In addition to offering prayers, the pilgrims participated in Langar (community kitchen), serving food to fellow devotees and partaking in the meal, which is a symbolic representation of equality, humility, and community service. It was a humbling experience, allowing members to practice the core values of Sikhism by serving humanity.

This pilgrimage was not just a spiritual retreat but also a chance for the members to bond and reflect on their individual roles in contributing to the community’s growth. It further emphasized the mission of WSCC to foster a sense of global unity among Sikhs while promoting the shared values of faith, commerce, and community upliftment.

The visit to Gurdwara Takhat Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib will remain etched in the hearts of all participants as a reminder of the strength and unity of the Sikh faith. The WSCC Pilgrimage Wing looks forward to organizing more such spiritually enriching journeys, enabling the community to stay connected with their rich heritage and traditions.
